About US
The #1 Goal at Lucky Shears is to put the highest quality tools in your hands, at reasonable and fair prices. Period. “DO YOU FEEL LUCKY”?
Our story
Anthony Robinson was born and raised in Charleston, W.V. where his mother, Billie Jean, owned and operated SHEAR DESIGN. Anthony’s grandfather, Bill Cochran was a master sharpener for the entire community. When Anthony was 8 years old, he was given an Arkansas wet stone and a Swiss Army pocket knife. The rest, as they say, is history.
When Anthony was 16 years old, he moved with his mother and step-father to Pennsylvania. He attended high school there and went on to attend Harrisburg Community College, majoring in Business Management.
In 1999, Anthony decided to dabble with sharpening shears for local stylists. In 2006, he attended the Sci-Mech School of sharpening, where he learned the essentials of properly sharpening shears. It wasn’t long until the local communities saw how passionate Anthony was about his work. He has serviced the Central PA area for 20 years, providing the best possible sharpening available.
In 2024, Anthony changed the name of his business to “The Sharpest Edge” because he felt that the edges he provided were no longer “sharper” but the “sharpest”. In June of 2025, Anthony moved to Kentucky to be closer to family. However, he made the promise to return to Pennsylvania on a 3-month rotating schedule to service his wonderful and loyal clients.
Now, living in Kentucky, Anthony continues to provide the best possible sharpening to the Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia and Maryland communities. This passion is what separates Anthony’s work from other sharpeners, and is what shaped the standards he operates under:
Maximum edge retention
Reliable turnaround
Transparent pricing
Geometry correction
Clean, consistent beveled and convex edges
